​Statement of Design Intent


I wanted to create a game in the mystery genre but with more action than just examining clues. I chose the LUMEN SRD because of the action-based mechanic and the rules were simple to understand. I determined a man-hunt would be an interesting take on this idea of mine. At first, it would be an underwater setting and the goal was to find Atlantis but I scrapped that idea. I got inspired by the Kingsman movie trilogy and went for a noir, spy-like atmosphere. I ended up with the idea of a secret agent going missing and the average joe character had to be the hero. I kept that idea but decide not to make a specific ending so that each gameplay would be different.
